Dr. John M. Childers
Senior Pastor
John Childers moved to St. Louis from Georgia because he and his family sensed God was calling them to be a part of a unique spiritual community at South County Baptist Church. His passion is to honor God by developing a church full of missionaries - the greatness of a church is seen not in its seating capacity, but in its sending capacity!
John and his wife Jeannie have two daughters, Amy and Jennifer. He graduated from The University of Georgia (Journalism), Southwestern Baptist Theological (Master of Divinity) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry).

Phil Spears
Minister of Administration & Education
We are happy to welcome Phil Spears to the ministry staff at SCBC as our new Minister of Administration & Education. Phil began his work at South County on January 1 and will serve alongside of retiring Minister of Education Ken Hill until Ken's full retirement.
Phil brings more than 13 years of experience with The Boeing Company to our staff. While at Boeing Phil aquired extensive experience in Strategy, Market Development, Finance, and Operations. Prior to joining Boeing Phil earned a BA and MBA from Missouri State University.
Phil is married to Emily and together they have three sons, Brady, Grant and Garrett.

Chris Bailey
Pastor of Worship and Music
Chris Bailey leads a broad and varied worship ministry at South County which produces worshippers of all ages. He graduated from Samford University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris and his wife Brenda have two children: Rachel and Cameron.
Josh Easter
Pastor to Students
Josh Easter began his ministry at SCBC on February 1, 2017, moving back to St. Louis from Louisville, KY where he served on staff at the historic Walnut Street Baptist Church. While in Louisville, Josh also served as research assistant to Dr. Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Josh and his wife Chelsea were raised here in the South County area and are graduates of Oakville High School. They bring a passion for the next generation and a desire to equip parents to serve as the primary disciplers of their children and youth.

Joe Spicer
Pastor of Missions and Outreach
Joe Spicer serves as Minister of Missions and Outreach. Bringing a vast wealth of ministry experience and a passion for reaching the lost for Christ, Joe is an encourager to the SCBC Family as we reach beyond our walls to impact South County and the World with the good news of hope in Jesus Christ. Joe and his wife Bonney have five adult children and an ever-growing brood of precious grandchildren.
